Funding Opportunities

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

This service is provided as a part of The Nominal Group’s ongoing concern to equip individuals, community-based and faith-based organizations, and other helping entities with essential tools to increase their capacity to serve the needs of disadvantaged and minority populations.  This concern was defined in the early history of TNG as “Funding Locator Services.”  The first program income generated by the organization resulted from the assistance provided a developing organization in locating potential sources for support.

This page is designed to enable the user to both identify potential sources of support for nonprofit organizations, specifically including community-based and faith-based organizations, and to link with resources or offices that might affect funding opportunities.   Just click the site desired as indicated below.

Community Foundations in Mississippi

The Foundation Center’s “Finding Funders” notes three local grantmaking foundations in Mississippi that provide public support to nonprofits.  These can be accessed through the following individual sites:

The Community Foundation of Greater Jackson serves central Mississippi (Hinds, Madison, and Rankin Counties).  Interest areas include:  arts and humanities, community building, education, the environment, families and children, health, and a scholarship program for local high school students.

The Foundation for the Mid South serves Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, with a concern “to build the capacity of communities, organizations and families” through three primary program areas:  economic development, education, and families and children.
