Capacity-Building and Technical Assistance

The primary function of the Division of Capacity-Building Training and Technical Assistance is to further The Nominal Group’s strategic goal to design and implement capacity building training and technical assistance to other community-based organizations and agencies that serve the at-risk and high-risk populations identified by the organization.   The specific goal of the Office of Capacity-building and Technical Assistance is to provide comprehensive capacity-building and technical assistance and training to any nonprofit group or individual interested in promoting a better quality of life for its citizens.   These organizations specifically include community-based organizations, churches, educational associations or schools, health agencies, and other nonprofit groups.

The principle responsibilities of the Office of Capacity-Building and Technical Assistance are to provide capacity-building and technical assistance in the following areas:

Starting a Nonprofit, 501(c)(3) Organization
Board Development and Training
Organizational Pre/Post Funding Management
Program Planning and Development
Grants Writing and Management Training and Services
Grants Management
Program Evaluation

Areas of public health education and other training include:

HIV/AIDS
HIV/AIDS Pre and Post Counseling and Partner Notification

Tuberculosis
Sexually Transmitted Infections
Alcohol and Drug Abuse

Correctional Health for Incarcerated Youth
